Inglewood, CA— Miguel Berchelt has a successful title defends against Takashi Miura at The Forum in Inglewood.

The fight was expected to be an action pack fight as both fighters have dynamite in their punches but, Berchelt used his footwork, angles, and boxing ability to outclass Muira. From the get go, Berchelt used his foot work and was able to drop Miura with a right-hand in the opening round. Miura beat the count and continue to fight. Although Berchelt was dominating most of the action, Muira landed hard punches. Berchelt respected Miura power and never engaged in a brawl but used his boxing ability.

“I knew this fight was going to be won with intelligence. Miura is a warrior and fought till the end, Miura has the toughest left hand in the division. He kept coming forward, and when he connected his punches, they did hurt. I knew I was going to fight and ex-world champion, so I prepared myself well. ” said Miguel Berchelt.

Berchelt got the unanimous decision (116-111, 119-108,120-109) as all judges gave him the nod and the victory over Miura. Berchelt retains his WBC super featherweight title and is looking for bigger fights in one of the hottest divisions in boxing today.
