David Lemieux Looking To Face Miguel Cotto in December

Lemieux had already expressed his intention to compete against former World
Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight champion and, in this sense, refused a
clash with World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion Billy Joe Saunders.

The plan is becoming clearer and more precise if Cotto defeated Japan’s
Yoshihiro Kamegai at the StubHub Center in Carson, California on August
26th.

“We already have something quite planned. You just have to see Cotto’s
performance in August. We’ve already booked the Madison Square Garden in
early December. “

Cotto returns nearly two years after a unanimous defeat at the hands of the
Mexican Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in November 2015 in Las Vegas. Alvarez is the
next opponent of Kazakh Gennady Golovkin in a mega fight scheduled for
September 16 in Vegas.
