Shannon Briggs Readies himself for Vitali Klitschko come October 16th

KIEV, Ukraine — Former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs plans to make current WBC titleholder Vitali Klitschko his "30-second, first-round victim" when they fight in October.

"That's how a lot of my fights end," Briggs said Monday in Kiev.



Klitschko shrugged off the threat, suggesting that the fight on Oct. 16 in Hamburg, Germany, will be a test of his own mental strength.

On Wednesday morning it was announced by Sauerland Events, promoter of WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler, that due to an eye injury, Kessler was forced to pull out of the SHOWTIME Super Six: World Boxing Classic tournament. With the unexpected withdrawal of Mikkel Kessler from the Super Six tournament, BoxingScene.com was advised that Showtime is leaning in the direction of fast-forwarding the Super Six to the semi-finals. LAS VEGAS (CN) - Boxer and Dancing with the Stars alum Floyd Mayweather failed to pay $62,000 in rent for commercial space that houses his promotion company, his landlord claims in Clark County Court. It's the latest in a string of lawsuits against the boxer.



TDF Investments says Mayweather signed a lease in July 2008 for Mayweather Promotions at nearly $10,800 per month for three years.
