Is Andre Ward too much of a Spoiler to Become a Superstar?

By Dominic Sauboorah: I’ve seen some overrated fighters over the years, but no one like Andre Ward. I’ve seen a fair few of his fights and I wont lie he has shown to be very illusive in the ring whereby opponents do find it difficult to pin him down and land shots against him, which is one main reason as to why he is still undefeated.

Nevertheless you’ve got to take into consideration his style of fighting and whether it should be deemed as clever or boring.

His fight…

Timothy Bradley: Before Junior Witter Fight, I had $11 in my Bank Account

As Bradley left to fly to England for his first world title fight in 2008, the couple's bank account was a paltry $11.

"We were dead, dead, dead broke," Bradley said, laughing. "I had to win. We had no choice because we'd given everything we had to this and we were just about out of money."

These days, Bradley has no such financial pressures. He'll make a guaranteed $5 million to fight Manny Pacquiao for the World Boxing Organization welterweight title on June 9 at…

Khan said to thesun.co.uk “The drug tests is in the contract. All my opponents from now on will have to take the tests are there is no fight. I signed up with the Voluntary Anti Doping Association…For every one of my bouts, there will there will be a clause in the contract to either agree or I will walk away.”

Trainer Robert Garcia: We will see Floyd Mayweather vs Saul Canelo Alvarez

Taking in the action, trainer Robert Garcia feels the scores were just.

“It was a great fight,” Garcia told me recently from his personal gym in Oxnard, California. “I know a lot of people think that Cotto won more rounds. I think the scores were right. They were close rounds. Maybe I’ll give two rounds to Cotto but it was tough for Mayweather. He won most of the rounds; it wasn’t easy. He had to really fight to win those rounds.”

On the Mayweather-Cotto undercard,…

Manny Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz has debunked reports that the “Fighter of the Decade” had the flu and indicated all he had was a bum stomach probably caused by something he ate.

Koncz told the Manila Standard there was no way Pacquiao could have been down with a fever since he sparred twelve rounds on Saturday with three different sparring partners and “looked great.”

Koncz said Pacquiao demonstrated his speed, footwork and power and was in fine physical…

Alex Ariza: Floyd Made $85 Million off Cotto Fight, Bob Arum is trying to Split me and Chavez Up now

By Shawn Craddick

It seems like Alex Ariza is on a roll again. Not one to hold his tongue either. It's no surprise that Bob Arum and Freddie Roach are not the happiest with Alex Ariza right now. They are still steaming that he left Manny Pacquiao in the middle of training camp and came back to the United States to start training Julio Cesar Chavez Jr for his upcoming bout with Andy Lee. Alex also has a financial tie and stake with Chavez Jr so he needs to protect his…

HBO 24/7 Freddie Roach: Alex Ariza has Gotten the Big Head

By Shawn Craddick

Freddie Roach surely is not the happiest with Alex Ariza right now and Alex could really care less. He is there to do a job for Manny Pacquiao, not for Freddie Roach or Bob Arum. Alex made sure he got Manny Pacquiao's permission to leave camp just 2 weeks early and he said they would meet back in LA and they did. After watching this 24/7 the people were shocked to hear Freddie say, "Alex has got the Big Head" but he might be right.

Why would Manny…

Donovon "Razor" Ruddock is Back, Chasing the Heavyweight Dream

Boxing has seen its fair share of retirements and unexpected comebacks, but those stories pale in comparison to what former two-time Canadian heavyweight champion Donovan “Razor” Ruddock plans on doing to revitalize his career.

Throughout the history of the sweet science, many fighters have retired and then made their return back to the ring for money or to regain their former glory. Some of these stories are remarkable and, in some cases, the retiree actually did very well for…

by David P. Greisman

The prostitute who had accused Jermain Taylor of raping her last week at a hotel has since recanted her allegation, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, citing police in the city of Maumelle.

That doesn’t mean Taylor is completely out of legal trouble; he “could face other charges, such as soliciting a prostitute,” the article said.

Taylor, 33, has spoken with police but has neither been arrested nor charged with any…

Trainer Diaz: Roach Overrated, Pacquiao made him Famous

“That’s the reason why I don’t watch news,” Diaz would say upon hearing of Roach’s bold proclamations. “That’s the reason why I don’t read stuff. Because I don’t want to know. And if I know, it doesn’t bother me. I know what I got and I know in what shape Timothy is. What mentality he is in. They can talk all they want. I don’t care. At the end of the day, Freddie’s not going to be in the ring fighting Bradley; it’s going to be Pacquiao.”

And while Ricky Hatton may have once been…
