Not sure but I've talked to quite a few people in the boxing industry about Alfredo Angulo's poor performance in the ring. Everyone saw the power shots that Canelo Alvarez was throwing at him. When we saw Angulo fire back it was like a pity pat game. Tap tap tap. No POWER. I had one trainer called me up and say that Angulo has been over trained. This is a sign of a fighter that has nothing left by the time they get into the ring.
Another insider told me that Angulo was kinda thankful for Canelo suggesting the 155lb limit because he was struggling making the weight too. Remember Angulo came in 154.5 and if you notice come fight night, he blew up to 174lbs. He picked up 20lbs in 24 hours. That is a sign of a person that really really drained themselves to make weight. It is unnatural. The last thing I heard was that right after the weigh in they had to get Angulo an IV to rehydrate his body because he was not feeling the best.
There are alot of things that don't make sense. Maybe someone will come out and shed some light on the matter. One thing I think both fighters need to do, and that is move up to 160lbs. Plenty of fights are there.
