Is Amir Khan Choosing Wisely ? April 27th Venue & Opponent TBA
By Samaarah Choubak
Choosing carefully is the name of the game and Amir Khan is currently in the process of selecting an opponent to fight in the UK and a venue which has yet to be announced for his forth coming 27th April. This will go out on Showtime and it will be on the same night that Danny Garcia will face Zab Judah for his defence for the WBA/WBC junior welterweight title which Amir Khan lost.
This will be Khan's second fight under Virgil Hunter, who will give Khan unique instruction, the training camp is likely to be the states, and Khan said that he regained his focus since starting work with Virgil Hunter. His previous training in preparation for Carlos Molina was intense and he had a thinking process in behind his warming up and sparring session whereas previously in L.A. it was more of a busy background, so he recognises that full concentration is required.
The WBC decided at the beginning of February in the recent welterweight rankings to move him into no 2 slot of the division at present he will be testing himself again as welterweight 140lbs and once this is settled he will move up again.
Names that have been circulated are Julio Diaz, Humberto Soto and Pablo Ceaser Cano, therefore whoever it will be, is certainly arriving to the UK to face an intense home crowd, the opponent will be a big underdog that is for certain.
UK fans can register their interest for tickets on http://www.sportscorporation.com/ for this fight.
