Andre Ward the undefeated 168lbs former WBC champion and winner of the Super Six Tournament, recently was a guest on the FIghthype blogtalk radio show, where he stated that the media should be focusing the spotlight on Carl Froch for the rematch not happening, and he believes that Froch truly doesn't want the fight and is just making excuses.
If that is the case, I know I will look into it myself, but my issue with Ward is the fact agin he harps on a PPV fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. claiming it's good business for all that's involved. I don't believe that it's good business for the fans, who will be asked to shell out good hard earned money for a fight, against a fighter , that has struggled to make weight in his last three fights and can't even make weight for his tune-up fight.
That fight to many boxing fans is seen as a joke, and for a caliber fighter like Ward that kind of fight is the reason how boxing got into the mess it got itself into. You don't want to be apart of something like that, because once you beat Chavez the way you will, what have you gained, oh..some suckers money. I get it, good business for those involved who are not the fans of boxing.
Golovkin on PPV down the road yes, why because he earning the right to challenge, Jr. hasn't, his last three fights, two failed drug test and a non testing in Texas. He took a boxing lesson from Martinez for 11 and a half rounds, then one tune up from Vera and he's earned a PPV shot at Ward? You be the judge.
