Muhammad Ali had a knockout of a 71st birthday last week and was celebrating with friends and family and watching a video of his "Rumble in the Jungle" win over George Foreman in Africa and his former business manager said that he highly enjoyed his birthday cake, he also said it was good to see him in high spirits, and that he was very comfortable with Parkinson being in his body, his eyes lit up when he saw his own win over George Foreman which was in 1974 and it took place in Zaire in Africa...definitely a “Rumble in the Jungle” and you never guess who was in the house with Ali, only Louis Farrakhan from the Nation of Islam who is Ali’s long-term friend !
Ok so we talked about Salido the former featherweight last week who got knocked down four times, and was beaten by Mikey Garcia, well unfortunately he suffered a broken right orbital bone which is the eye socket, it was badly bruised and upon investigation that’s what he was diagnosed, his manager stated that it seems like it was broken in the first round, apparently he also stated that they didn’t have closure in that fight, Salido said that he would of rather of been knocked the heck out than the stoppage. Well they’ve said that the injury won’t be stopping him in the future and no surgery is required which is a good thing for him.
Now let’s talk Aussie boxers, well is another featherweight Billy “The Kid” Dib well he’s the current IBF Featherweight champ and former IBO super feather weight so he’s in a bit of standing and very popular with his personality, well his fight announcement for his fight against Cuban Olympian Luis Franco 1st March kicked off some speculation and excitement as he hasn’t fought for almost a year, guess who owns him?? Only Fitty 50 Cent & he plans for him to fight in Dubai which is a MPA mmm “Major Plan Of Action” Fitty said he’s confident that last week’s winner Mikey Garcia would be a challenge for Dib!
Has everyone got their ears open? I hope so as what I’m about to tell you , might get missed , last night in Vegas on Show Sports Lucas Matthysse and Mike Dallas fight just ended in KTFO Matthysse just delivered a sensational first round knockout and it just proves that he can defo go a unified date with Danny Garcia, Matthysse holding it 33 wins with 31 KO’s is fully in the picture now and the frame will hopefully be filled for this unification bout, well Dallas's trainer is also Virgil hunter who recently took on Amir Khan and has Andre Ward under him too, was irritated apparently Hunter said that Matthysse ingested some kind of amino acid tablets before the fight and then Matthysse sort had the Nevada state commission after barging into their dressing room after the fight investigating some foul play but they didn’t find anything, well I suppose everything has to be policed, from the way they do things it’s always unexpected they can hook up any boxers anytime and spend the who day with them in their homes and follow them everywhere, it’s part of their lives,
Other fights last night results were Majority decision for Jesus Sotto who beat Selcuk Aydin and Jermell Charlo from LA rocked the cradle and won in a 8th round KO against Harry Joe making his record to 20 wins with no losses.
Ok so money talks in this game and we all know it’s a big issue especially when it comes down to the most high profile names in the game, it’s been reported that Paulie Mallignaggi has declined to fight Shane Mosley over the financial terms of the fight, so it was meant to take place on 27th April in New York, from what it looks like Shane Mosley was on board, obviously his cut seemed bigger and now they’re all saying it’s dead in the water, well Mosley was actually coming out of retirement to fight Mallignaggi so he was disappointed, just don’t know what’s going to happened but all the talk has halted ! Schaefer from Goldenboy still said that fight would attract lots of fans in New York but it’s not on now.
