Canelo Alvarez Stops Alfredo Angulo in the 10th Round TKO - Maybe Premature Stoppage

By Shawn Craddick

Canelo Alvarez was winning the fight and was out landing Alfredo Angulo but there is always that punchers chance. Canelo was landing alot of power shots but Angulo was taking it and firing back. Virgil Hunter wanted this fight to go into the late rounds because they thought it would favor them. In the 10th round Angulo got hit with a good uppercut and the ref Tony Weeks stepped in and stopped the fight. The crowd started to boo and throw stuff into the ring. Even Canelo had a look of disgust for a second because they stopped the fight. Angulo got mad at Tony Weeks and pushed him. This was a let down for all the Mexican fans. If the fight went the distance Canelo would have won but there is always that one punch chance.
