Carl Froch to Give Rematch to George Groves? No Other Options?

By Shawn Craddick

Carl Froch is not one to run from controversy. November 2012 is exactly what we had. Groves nailed Carl Froch with a right hand that sent him to the canvas. The bell pretty much saved him. Groves was beating him every round just about until Froch poured it on in the 8th round and Groves was tiring. Froch threw a flurry of punches and the Ref stopped the fight and the crowd was shocked and in disbelief. Why? Groves was not hurt and asking the referee why did he stop the fight?

Ever since that fight Froch has been looking for a new opponent and he has not been able to find one. In the interim, the fans and media have been begging Froch to face Groves in Rematch to settle the controversial stoppage. Right now, no other fight can draw the money he wants at 168lbs. If he moves up to 175lbs then the sky's the limit, but most fans don't feel he can beat any of the 175lb fighters. The way we see it, there are no other options. Eddie Hearn is working on putting together a rematch and even going as far as to appeal to the IBF. Hopefully we get the rematch soon.
