Chavez Sr. remembers being in the same position as Marcos Maidana for his Mayweather fight

By Kevin Davis

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. loves the way Marcos 'Chino' Maidana fights, and these kind of fights get his blood pumping. "I like watching Maidana fight, he's going to bring much pressure on Mayweather, you can't give him time to think about your next move. Mayweather is the best right now and this fight will make my blood get hot, because it will be great action."  Chavez would know because he was in the same position when he fought Roger Mayweather until the bell rang and he exploded with the type of fire that could burn down a village. He made Mayweather seems like a tunup fighter.

The shock was so great a rematch was made in which Mayweather did better but couldn't survive the power and force that Chavez Sr. brought to him that night. "Going into that fight, all the so-called experts said I would be embarrassed and didn't belong in the same ring as Mayweather, the same things that they are saying about Maidana, so I know he has a chance, now what is he going to do, is the question."
