The Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Bryan Vera fight is closer and closer but without controversy. It was revealed by Chavez Sr the other day that his son cannot make the 168lb limit. They want it moved up to 173lbs. Chavez Jr has always had weight issues but everyone thought it would be fixed by moving up to 168lbs. He has been bashed before because of his lack of training and taking fights seriously. Bryan Vera's camp is not to happy but they are ready.
When we asked one of the trainers Danny Arnold about the fight officially taking place at 173lbs he said, "Yes, It's true". We asked him about what he thought about Chavez not honoring his contract. "Chavez is disrespectful to the sport and to contracts, he really buys himself out of anything." I've personally been at the Plex gym and have seen the great shape that Byran Vera is in. He took no breaks and trained for 17 weeks straight. Danny let us know that he believes that Chavez will still have problems. "Chavez is still overweight and he's still going to have problems getting down to 173lbs. While he's starving himself, we're eating 4 meals a day."
This really makes this fight interesting. Byran Vera has the advantage now to capitalize on. Chavez will be weight drained, legs gone, and sluggish. Looks like Chavez Jr might see his second loss in a row. Tune in to HBO this Saturday to see fireworks between Chavez vs Vera. If you don't have HBO then call your local cable provider.
