Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez presser in LA

March 14, 2014

On June 7, 2014, Miguel Cotto will attempt to become the first Puerto Rican fighter to win a four title in four weight divisions. He will face the WBC and Ring middleweight title king Sergio Martinez. The fight will be at Madison Square Garden in New York City and it will air on HBO pay per view. Both Cotto and Martinez went on a three city press tour. The cities they went to was Puerto Rico, New York and Los Angeles.

So, I attended the Los Angeles press conference on March 12, 2014 and I listen to what both Miguel and Sergio had to say to the press, and media. After the press conference, I was able to interview Miguel Cotto, Tom Loeffler, and record Bob Arum talking to the media about Top Rank having there first ever fight at Madison Square Garden.

Overall, I enjoyed the press conference and I was able to interview Cotto. Cotto was really nice person to interview. For Martinez, I could not get him because everyone was lined up to interview him and only a few got him. When it was time for a group interview with Sergio he only had time to answer one question. I tried to get in close to Martinez to record what he had to say but tons of media and press where all over the place. Also, the security was really uptight on Sergio. At least I went home and got my interview with Miguel Cotto and I did not go home empty handed.
