What a surprise, what a surprise. Both Floyd Mayweather and Saul Alvarez weighed in at the 30 day mark before their showdown "The One" on Sept 14th. The boxing world has been in an uproar and I have been getting blown up on the website, twitter, and Facebook. Many are wondering if Canelo can make the 152lb weight. If not then the blame goes to Mayweather for making him come down. If he does beat him Canelo then they will say Floyd weight drained him. Let's take a closer look at the fighters weight.
Floyd Mayweather is 30 days out and tipped the scales at 150.3 lbs. Floyd as usual is under the weight limit. He could wear all his clothes and still make 152lbs. What people fail to realize is that Floyd is a gym rat. He lives in the gym. Even when he's not at his Mayweather Boxing Gym, he's in his personal gym at his mansion. If he is not doing boxing training then he is playing basketball or some other sport to stay in top shape. That is why he never has cardio problems. On top of that Floyd is blessed with a very high metabolism.
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on the other hand might have took at long break after the Austin Trout fight. Everyone hit me up about Canelo weighing 166.8 lbs. They thought the same thing as me. If he has been training for atleast 4 weeks, then how much did he originally weigh? After 4 weeks he "atleast" lost 10 lbs. That would put Canelo at 176.8 lbs. He could have fought Light Heavyweight. So even though he has only a little over 12 lbs to go in 4 more weeks, it will be a weight draining camp versus a boxing training camp.
We have to wonder why Saul Alvarez has "stamina" issues. He really should be fighting at 160 lbs. We believe whether he loses to Floyd or wins, he will be making the move to 160 lbs because it will be more healthy for him. Let's see what happens.
