Farenas has nothing to be down about

By Kevin Davis

Michael Farenas was just suppose to show up and get a menacing beatdown by a guy who is bigger, faster and more skilled than him. taking this fight purely for the money and the opportunity, he made the best of it. Farenas was solid all fight long and has a history of knocking out his opponents. Yuriorkis Gamboa, who after a fifteen month layoff was primed to walk right through his unknown challenger. He had 50 Cent, now known as Curtis Jackson is now a promoter and he came down from the ceiling rapping to introduce himself to the business.

Once the bell rung, Farenas was too slow, timing off and the skill level of Gamboa was showing up, after taking knockdowns in the fight Gamboa became more confident and under a ton of pressure look impressive since this was the debut of 50 Cent the promoter. He needed to knockout Farenas and he got reckless and was caught by a left he never saw coming and like a light he was shut off, and hurt badly. Farenas tried to finish him, but fatigue and being spent over nine rounds all he could do was make it to the final bell. Gamboa won the fight but Farenas won the event.
