Freddie Roach the Hall of Fame trainer of many world champions, but mainly Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao. Roach many has feel acted in hast when he fired Alex Ariza who didn't have a contract with Freddie Roach anymore. Most strength and conditioning coaches work on a fight by fight bases, but due to the success of Ariza, he was able to set himself apart from the others, and stand out, and many at the Wildcard fight club saw this as a problem for Freddie." I have a great relationship with most of the staff there, so I don't want my name out there but I left and went to Fortune gym, because it became all about the politics rather than boxing. It seemed like Freddie got blinded by all the cameras and the lights." said former boxer of the Wildcard club who doesn't want his name out there.
"Freddie was the coolest person in the world back in 09, then he changed with every big Pacquiao win, more cameras, for interviews, the more he loved the attention, he was suppose to pad my man's because Eric wasn't going to be there and asked Freddie to do it, and he did like five mins, stopped took a break got on the phone, came back did another 5 mins, then he stopped again and my guy said I got to drop Freddie as my trainer. I've seen the old Freddie physically throw someone out the gym for throwing a cheap shot in the ring. This Freddie today I don't know man."
"His heart just isn't in training no more, he wants to be a TV star now, he's waiting for them HBO cameras to show up, he's got crazy new rules in the gym, the fighters there now are like prisoners, they can't do this or that and they have been there for like ten years. It's crazy! it's not Alex, that's why all his fighters are leaving, he has screwed up fighters careers, like Vanes, undefeated all these years sticking with Freddie and he sells him out for Chavez Jr., Alex would come in there and do his job and leave, he wasn't loud, he did his job and left, now he is the scapegoat. His arrogance knows no bounds, I'm not surprised."
