The weigh-in results from Russia, Fres Oquendo 222lbs and Chagaev 244 lbs. This fight is for the vacant WBA Heavyweight championship. For Oquendo this may be his last shot at greatness on the big stage so he has prepared for this fight harder than any fight I have seen him train for in the past. Oquendo has been known for coming close with no cigar, winning the fights in the fans eyes but not the judges. That's why his trainer and longtime friend Nate Jones said they are going for the knockout. "Fres is looking amazing wait til, you see him pimp, I got him right, I'm telling you he's knocking that boy out. We coming back the world champ pimp, Ya Dig." stated Nate Jones.
Nate Jones many felt would challenge for a world title after his 96 Olympic medal run, but his career didn't pan out how he saw it, "I was a knucklehead, drinking and not taking care of my body as a pro and it cost me, my career." Jones got hurt and could not continue boxing. Dreams of bringing a world title back to Chicago was gone, but now life has giving him a second chance to return to Chicago as world champion as a trainer. Who better than Fres to win that title with, a fighter who should have at least two world title belts around his waist.
Fres is faster and a more slicker boxer than Chagaev and well you will see the power once they ring the bell.
