In this year alone, GoldenBoy Promotions has set up another career year. Surpassing their 2011 mark. Now signing young future stars from the 2012 Olympics, and big cable network fights, with a successful National TV fights. Golden Boy promotions are corning the game.
Top Rank has been doing well also this year fending off the mass promotional cards by Golden Boy but with Showtime posting their highest numbers in years, in boxing events since Mike Tyson, Working with GoldenBoy. I can't see Top Rank surviving much, with Manny Pacquiao their big money draw nearing retirement. They don't have another PPV star in their roster at this point except Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Who put up decent PPV numbers but no where near Pacquiao type numbers.
Next year HBO sports are going to put a ton of pressure on Top Rank to showcase their top fighters against each other too fast to keep up with GoldenBoy Showtime cards. Even with Mayweather not fighting GoldenBoy has been creating their next PPV star Saul 'Canelo' Alavarez. You can have Victor Ortiz fight on PPV. Can't wait to see how they end this year and what the future brings for next year.
