This may be the last shot at the top for Alfredo Angulo, he has had many chances to emerge from the ranks of just a contender. A shocking loss to Kermit Cintron and then a devastating defeat at the hands of James Kirkland, it was time for him to change his attitude and corner. After a year long battle with a deportation center, he returned but has been fighting off the rust that the time of absent has added to him. Saul Canelo Alvarez has noticed the rust and now feels as if he can defeat the proud warrior.

In his last fight Angulo faced off against the sharp punching, slick Cuban fighter Erislandy Lara. The fight started fast for lara while, Angulo looked slow and late on shots, using good body work he kept lara in front of him and dropped him twice in the fight. The first time anyone has ever done that to Lara. Angulo pressed for the victory but a shot to the eye stopped the fight and Lara was awarded the victory. Now with another chance to redeem himself, he gets the fight that has always eluded him. Now what will he do.
