Jamel Herring and Team Herring have arrived in Washington, DC. and are focused on another victory as they weighed in at 135lbs, and Antonio Sanchez came in at 138lbs. Herring the former 2012 Olympian boxer, almost missed the opportunity to fulfill his lifetime dream of fighting for his country in the ring, because he was fighting for his country overseas, in Iraq. Herring missed the Olympic trials because he and other boxers who also served, were defending our nation, it was Herrings second tour of duty and as a true United States Marine, he put his dreams on hold for the greater good of others.
The USA boxing committee decided to host another tournament to allow the fighters who served our country the chance to make the USA boxing team and represent us proudly. Herring took full advantage of this blessing and as a result, made the 2012 USA Boxing team. Since then he turned pro, earning a record of 6 wins, no defeats, with 4 wins coming by way of knockout. Saturday night, he just looking to add Sanchez name to his list of victories.
