Top Rank continued to load up its promotional stable with elite prospects by signing amateur sensation Jose Ramirez, widely viewed as the best pro prospect from the 2012 U.S. Olympic team. Jose has racked up a 7-0, 5KO record in one year. He is on track to hopfully fight alot next year. Toprank is moving him at a good pace. We reached out to Jose Ramirez to see if there is any fears of living up to everyone's expectations.
"A lot of people ask me do I even have fear because of the way I express myself in the ring or because of my faith. And I tell them yes of course, I always do and that what's keeps me hungry and so active. It keeps me sharp and with my guard up."
"However I also believe if there's no enemy within you that could defeat you then there shouldn't be an enemy outside you that will."
Jose will be fighting soon in 2014. He stated, "I fight Feb 1st in Laredo, TX and then Dallas, TX with Javier Perez and that will be the undercard of Byran Vera vs Chavez Jr. I think Bob Arum and Topranks plan is to push me a lil more this year with the level competition."
"But I plan to fight 6-8 times next year and 3 of which would be co-promoting with my company JCR Promotions and TopRank."
Toprank has big plans for this 2012 Olympian. He is the future of the company. You can follow him on twitter @ramirezboxing
