Juanma Lopez Cannot Wait for Nonito Donaire Forever

By Shawn Craddick

Nonito Donaire has stated that he wants to stick around and try to clean up the Super Bantamweight Division. His first step is former champion Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. This will be a very hard battle for Nonito. Just recently we found out that Vasquez is a little heavy and he might be weight drained by the time the bell rings. Nonetheless we expect fireworks from the two of them. Nonito is getting the nod by being the favorite. Sometimes that can play on the mind of the fighter and make them feel they already have the fight in the bag. Not Nonito, he knows better.

Next up is Toshiaki Nishioka, the 35 yr old WBC Champion. He has not lost since 2004 and he sports a record of 39 Wins 4 Losses and 24 of those wins by KO. This would be a nice victory for Nonito to pick up the WBC Belt. Up next is Guillermo Rigondeaux who just knocked out Rico Ramos to pick up the WBA Belt. This would probably be one of Donaire's hardest challenge. This guy is being hailed as the next get champion. Nonito would have his hands full with Guillermo.

Now on to Takalani Ndlovu who is the IBF Champion at 122lbs. All the way from South Africa Takalani does not pose any real threat. He would probably be the easiest to beat. With 6 losses to his name and half way decent punching power, Donaire would walk right through him. Last but not least we have Jorge Arce. Wow this would be a barn burner. The WBO Champion who recently dethroned Wilfredo Vasquez Jr would be a tough challenge for anybody at 122lbs. He has a no quit attitude and he's not afraid to get hit. He has that I'm willing to die attitude. We all know Nonito loves those kind of challenges.

This brings us to Juanma Lopez. If Nonito can clean out the Super Bantamweight Division, can Juanma wait that long. Juanma Lopez has been known in the past to have weight issues. Some claim that was the reason why he lost to Salido. We will find out in the rematch. If Nonito can get by Vasquez and Juanma win in the rematch with Salido, then this would make for a great match at 126lbs. This would also be the biggest payday in Nonito's life. I'm pretty sure if you put it in Vegas it would be standing room only. Hurry up Mr. Donaire, Juanma can't wait forever. If you can beat Juanma Lopez, then Guillermo Rigondeaux will still be waiting for you at 122lbs.
