Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin is becoming a well known name in the boxing community. Household name, not just yet. He's 5"11 and from Brooklyn, New York. He is quite a funny guy once you get to know him. He likes to make people laugh. However, when he steps in the ring he only thinks about dominating his opponents. Afterwards he can be friends again. Peter doesn't really have a style per se, but he get's the win. His record is 29-0 with 21 KO's. He means business.
His last 3 fights have been against pretty descent opponents. In June 2012 he beat a veteran in Winky Wright. Although Winky is over the hill, Peter needed the experience with a vet. This in Oct 2012 he faced Hassan N'Jikam for the WBO Title. He dropped Hassan 6 times in that fight and got the UD victory. Now we have the WBO Middleweight champion. Next up in April 2013 he faced Fernando Guerrero and most people wondered how he would hold up to someone who was as strong and fast has Peter. Well, Peter registered a 7th round TKO against Fernando to retain his WBO Title.
Up next is tough Gabriel Rosado. Peter Quillin is demanding respect and he will start getting it by fighting these type of tough fighters. If Peter get's past Rosado, it's only time for him to go for the other belts and star unifying. Peter is tough and from the streets and he puts you in mind of Bernard Hopkins. He knows how to talk outside of the ring and he knows how to back it up in the ring. Kid Chocolate knows how to use wisdom in the ring. He's still young and he still has alot to learn but I can see him turning into the new Bernard Hopkins in the ring. Let's sit back and see will he pass B-Hop's record for title defenses.
