Before the fight Mike Dallas Jr. new trainer Virgil Hunter stated that he saw Lucas Matthysse take something that he though was strange, brought it to commission, and we didn't know if we would have a fight, and it turned out to be that we didn't have a fight...we had a quick sparring session. Matthysse landed a counter right hand in the first minute and a half of the first round , Dallas was out on his feet, before he went crashing down to the canvas.
The controversy lasted longer than this fight, but it was a pleasing result, as this puts pressure on Danny Garcia to look impressive against Zab Judah in two weeks. Setting up and mega fight between the two superstars. Matthysse says he wants the best fighter at 140lbs, but mainly wants Garcia.
