Take a look at the scorecard of the Bradley vs Marquez fight Saturday night. You can see from the start that the judges are all over the place in choosing decisive rounds. Which made it a close fight in my opinion but I'm not a judge and Juan manuel Marquez pride may be hurt because deep inside he knows he lost this fight after being robbed many times in the past, but this was not one of them.
Still champion, Timothy Bradley spoke at the post fight presser. “I was able to control him with my jab. I like to fight but I had to listen to my corner. I had to stay smart. I had to box to get the win,” WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley said at the post fight press conference following his split decision win over Mexican icon Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
“Marquez is a big puncher,” continued Bradley. “I felt his punch in the first round when he dazed me with a left hook. He made adjustments landing that right hand…I didn’t think the fight was close. I felt I controlled the fight. I was confident about getting my hand raised for the most part.”
Marquez stated, “Once again we came prepared to give a good fight. I think the people saw a good performance and the judges did it again. We are happy with the performance. When you come to Vegas you need to get a knockout. The judges are more dangerous than the opponents."
