Once again Floyd Mayweather put on a brilliant performance against Saul Canelo Alvarez. I had Floyd winning 10 rounds to 2. I gave Canelo the 10th round and the last round. In my earlier article I said CJ Ross needs to be investigated. 114-114 was just straight out buffoonery. Even though Floyd looked like a million bucks, his body does not always cooperate.
In Floyd's post fight presser he said he could have done more but he thinks he dislocated his elbow. Not sure when that happened but I didn't see any signs of him being hurt. Although he did paw with his jab, I thought it was part of the game plan. He surely named him his nice stiff jabs all night long.
The fight before this Floyd said he hurt his hands in the Robert Guerrero fight and you could see after he took off his wraps his hands were swollen. He was tagging the Ghost all night long. He kind of put me in mind of Roy Jones Jr. Roy said once those hands get damaged and you keep fighting, they get more and more brittle.
Floyd Mayweather's Heart and Mind is on one accord but his body is showing signs of wear and tear. I'm a little older than Floyd and my mind tells my body what to do and it does it. However after a hard work out, my body tells my mind what in the hell did you just do to me? Floyd is 36 and after his last 4 fights it will be time to retire. No need in putting your body through alot of damage. You are 45-0 and really don't have to prove anything, however you do have a Showtime contract to fulfill. I'm sure you body can last 2 more years but that's it. Give it the well deserved rest that it needs.
