Miguel Cotto Has Nothing Left, He Should Retire!

In the footage before his last three fights, Miguel Cotto has been seen crying and talking about life after boxing. No more do we here or see the hunger of a boxer. No more do we see a lion willing to fight to the death. Who can Cotto possibly fight to get back on top of the boxing world that he can actually beat?

He cannot beat Mayweather Jr. He cannot beat Pacquiao (although he has since fell off the top) and I don’t even think he can beat Juan Manuel Marquez, which a victory over him can possibly put him near the top. Fighting Canelo Alvarez is not a fight that if a win were to happen, it would automatically put you at the top (and I doubt he can beat Canelo now; 3 years ago, maybe). Canelo has not beaten anyone that would warrant him being called pound for pound or even a true champion. Let’s hope for the boxing world that Canelo does not pull out of this fight in April with Trout.

Anyone Cotto fights now and beats, will not be an elite fighter and will mean nothing to his career. A win over anyone that is not an elite, only means a Win; nothing else. Does Cotto have anything in the tank to beat an elite again, no. He can only beat B or C class fighters. Should Cotto fight Canelo? Yes. Cotto deserves a large pay day for everything he has done in the boxing world. Can he beat Canelo? I dont think so. Canelos defense and counter shots will prove too much.

A boxer who I think he should fight again is Pacquiao; And he should fight him RIGHT NOW! Pacquiao’s shield has been broken by Marquez and will never be the same. If there was every a time where Cotto could beat Pacquiao, it is right now. But it has to be a catch weight at 150 pounds. Anything below that, Pacquiao will be able to beat him easily.
