Here we go again, it seems like each time Floyd Mayweather has a fight approaching, some past his prime entertainer wants to use Mayweather's fame, to boost their dwindling careers. Nelly ten years ago was one of the rap games most highest selling rap artist with only Eminem ahead of him his 'Country Grammer' and 'Nellyville' albums are two of the most successful rap albums of all-time. Then came the bad albums, bad investments, bad spending habits, now Nelly has to use other famous people names to boost himself back into the spotlight, which is tragic for an artist of his former stature.
In May of this year it was rumored that Nelly was seeing Floyd Mayweather's former fiance Shantel Jackson, then photos where released of the two together and courtside at basketball events. Nelly even recorded a song 'Thanks to my Ex' a clear diss at Mayweather many took it. This song lasted about a week in the news, with zero reply from Mayweather. Now on ESPN first Take Nelly takes a shot at Floyd by saying "I can't have a conversation with someone who never graduated from high school." Not taking into consideration of the fact that Mayweather didn't graduate due to family issues and training and traveling for boxing tournaments. He sacrificed that to become the best fighter in the world, and Nelly needs to learn how to reclaim that passion to make successful songs again, instead of involving himself in tabloid jargon. If Mayweather really dug deep into Nelly's rumored steroid and gambling issues, it could create huge problems for the rap and r&b star so it's best to leave that door unopened Nelly.
