Nonito Donaire is a household name by now. He has had exciting fights on HBO and they want him back every single time. Him and his wife make such a great combination that is made for TV. Sadly this is his third time in a row only making $750,000. How much more does Nonito have to do to prove he is worth atleast a cool million? Granted his competition is not at the level he is at, but HBO can afford to fork over $1 Million.
Seems like Toprank President Todd Leboeff does not think Nonito Donaire is ready yet for PPV and has decided once again to put him on HBO. Don't get us wrong $750,000 is great for a bantamweight but he rededicated his life to Toprank because he wanted more money. He seems like he is in the same boat as before. If Nonito slips up and does not win his next couple of fights, that million dollar payday is gone. You have to make the money while you are hot.
Nonito can sometimes be too modest and needs his strong wife Rachel Donaire to fight and scrap all the money she can get for her husband. Nonito comes from a background where he would fight for $60. That was fine and dandy back in the day but he is at a point he can negotiate alot more than that. Manny Pacquiao helped open the doors for Filipinos like Nonito Donaire, Mercito Gesta, and Brian Viloria. They deserve more money. When you sell our the tennis stadium that seats 8,000 and the fans are complaining because they want to get in, then I call that high demand and they will pay to see if on PPV. Tune in to see Nonito Donaire vs Jeffery Mathebula Saturday night.
