Paulie Malignaggi has something left

Paulie Malignaggi vs. Shawn Porter. They’ll fight for Porter’s IBF welterweight title April 19 at D.C. Armory in Washington. Malignaggi (33-5, 7 KOs) has a blossoming broadcasting career, but the two-division champ proved Dec. 7 he still has high-level boxing left in his 33-year-old body. He outpointed Zab Judah (42-9, 29 KOs, 2 NC), also a former 140-pound and 147-pound champ, with surprising ease in their 12-round welterweight bout at Barclays Center. That impressive victory earned Malignaggi a shot at Porter (23-0-1, 14 KOs), who won the IBF welterweight championship the same night at Barclays by outboxing Devon Alexander (25-2, 14 KOs). Showtime will televise the Porter-Malignaggi match as part of a tripleheader that’ll feature a bout between IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (54-6-2, 32 KOs, 2 NC) and WBA 175-pound title-holder Beibut Shumenov (14-1, 9 KOs). - See more at:
