A year ago we were all wondering when will Semajay Thomas be unleashed unto the boxing game, now after two first round knockouts Thomas is making himself known as must see action, good enough to be considered to be on the Mayweather vs Maidana 2 undercard. "I'm awaiting a call from AL Haymon, to see if it's going to happen, but it's possible." Thomas stated. "This is a great opportunity for me and my career, it's huge." Thomas is just happy to get his career going after sitting almost a year waiting to get a fight. "People don't know about what really goes on behind the scenes, they just say "hey why you ain't fighting yet" not knowing I had to split from my original handlers. They tried to take my signing bonus, they made me and my moms sign these illegal contracts, so it took time just trying to get that straighten out."
Thomas is also owns his own promotional company called LG promotions, an entertainment company that promotes hip hop and R&B artist, and soon he plans to expand to boxing as well. "I want to one day promote my own boxing fights as well, you see when Mayweather fights they have Mayweather promotions, Cotto has Cotto promotions, Canelo has Canelo promotions, and I want LG, Legendary Greatness to be promoting my fights one day." He has become his own best promoter, no one is more on social media, before and right after he gets out of a ring. "Mayweather told me when we were in the car, that you have to be you're best promoter, no one is going to promote you better than yourself."
With all great promoting comes the critics and drama fiends, you here the responses that Thomas flashes too much money, and post too much of his life. Like the photos of him and Chicago rap star Chief Keef child's mother. "I just wanted to clear that up because we are just good friends and she comes to my fights, and there is nothing else going on between us, I wouldn't disrespect her situation like that, we just love partying and hanging out, but as friends." Now 4- 0 with two knockouts in a row, Thomas is focused on taking his career to the next plateau.
