Ronnie Rios improved his record to 23-0, after a great showing against a game Andrew Cancio. Cancio came out swinging hard to the body and head, makeing Rios fall into a trap of fighting with him, but as the rounds went on Rios used his skill of slick upper body movement, to avoid shots and smother the attack of Cancio. "I wanted to stay in there and trade, to show them I wont be pushed around.but my corner said hey be smart use your skills," said Rios "so I stayed close to him because he was just throwing looping shots most was hitting me behind the head, but that's my fault, so it was better for me to stay on the inside with him and work from there. Now we move on and I'm here it's a guy from Colombia. Whoever it is I'm ready."

Other bouts on the night, Mike Garvronski won a very competitive decision against the hard hitting Kevin Hand. welterweight prospect from Al Haymon's stable Alex Martin use power to stop Anthony Linenfelser in his tracks as the size and power was the difference. as he scored another knockout bringing his record to 5-0 with 5 knockouts.

In the battle of the undefeated Davis Diaz and Jose Arambula, came out swinging and it was the slick boxing skills of the guy they call 'Chino' who landed the big thunder as a crashing left dropped Diaz to the canvas.
