This time Semajay Thomas wont be denied, this August 30th on the 'Night of the Rising Stars' fight card, former USA boxer Semajay Thomas will make his debut at the 'Night of Champion' event at the Cicero Stadium. For Thomas the struggle has been hard due, to the fact that he want to compete in the 2012 Olympics and represent his country and his city, but the hometown champion was denied by bad judging. Holding his head high he said he would take his skills to the pro level, but was finding it very challenging to get fights.
Thomas was number one in the nation at the 141 weight class, and many of the fighters know about his talents and don't want to be the first to step up to him. Frustrated and angry, Thomas just prayed to god kept his focus. Thomas manager Fletcher Smith spoke on the waiting process. "It was hard to get him fights, everybody wants him, but can't find him fights right now, and we spoke to everybody." Thankfully, longtime boxing promoter Bobby Hitz called and said he could get him on his card. The rest is history.
Thomas has promised a knockout in his first debut fight to add more pressure to the situation, he doesn't mind the pressure because he said he can handle it, he was born for this moment. Come see Semajay and others at the Cicero Stadium 1909 S. Laramie, Cicero, Illinois 60805 Aug.30th 7pm
