They come and support certain fighters, they feel connected with, then at a snap of the finger, they leave and show support, to another fighter. In some cases the fairweather fans would hate the person they use to support. With today's boxing world, with social media and the we need it now and faster, fans are quick to forget and abandon the fighters they care about, just because their attention is focused on what's in front of them at the moment.
Loyalty is royalty, that line use to get my pumped, but today's fans are just terrible, they booed fighters who came into the ring to give them a great fight and put in their all. When Canelo falls, will the fans be there to cheer him on through out his career. Danny Garcia was looked at as the next big exciting fighter. Then he has one fight that goes to the scorecards and now he's been replaced by a fighter that seems to knockout all his opponents, Lucas matthysse, now the people that have supported Garcia, are calling him afraid, saying he will be knocked out in a matter of seconds. Very disrespectful, for a champion that took the fight the minute it was presented.
What is wrong with the world today, our attention span is horrible, and we care about nothing. Why is it that we as the fans can't embrace the notion that maybe we don't know everything and yes, we can enjoy a fight and cheer for both fighters, even though you may have a favorite.
