The Reason Mayweather has been attacking Manny Pacquiao

By Kevin Davis

Puerto Rico, the first public face to face meeting between Floyd 'Money' Mayweather and Miguel Cotto in a mega PPV battle this May 5th. After a few short words by Cotto, Mayweather took to the mic to say a few words about Manny Pacquiao. "I'm not a cheater like Margarito and Pacquiao." shocking he would state that, when there is a lawsuit against him for deflamation of character by Pacquiao. He didn't stop there, New York City. The Big Apple Mayweather takes the stage again to tell Pacquiao "If your the best, then take the test."  A puzzled look was over most people face because they thought that part was finally agreed on. Then comes the final presser in LA where Mayweather stated "If I was Tim Bradley, I would make Pacquiao take the test."

Now the million dollar question, why the attacks on Pacquiao. I spoke to Mayweather myself a week ago and I can't tell you our conversation but I can tell you the reason for this is because he was adamant about fighting Pacquiao on May 5th. That was the fight he wanted, not to say he don't want to fight Cotto, He does, it's just Pacquiao was the main target. After many failed attempts to get the fight made, it was clear that Pacquiao and his promoter Bob Arum wasn't going to let it happen.

Look whos talking? I thought you changed a bit Mr. Davis?? Although I agree with you with regards to the lies and cheats of Bob and Manny just willingly obliges to his prodding, but Pacquiao isn't a liar like Mayweather and Bob are..How would you respond if you are offered $40mil and without a share of the pay per view given the magnitude of this fight?? Use your common sense and right thinking when you write about this topic. Who cares if you talked to Floyd himself? The guy is a proven and straight-up liar, and then you just showed you're always ready to believe every word he says. That's not good on your credibility my man. Fans are not fools as you think majority of them are. How surprising it is to see you say, "You all are so easily fooled by the lies and untruths of Arum and Pacquiao", when I never see you say that on Floyd, when the truth is, Floyd is a much more exposed liar of the bunch.. Bias and credibility my man, you won't get the full respect you want without it. Im just sayin.

Kevin Davis, Pacquiao was willing for a 55% share for the winner. Mayweather always brags that he can whip Pacquiao so if he was really sure of that then Pacquiao definitely is not getting 50-50. So why did Mayweather not agree? Mayweather could have countered with a 60-40 sharing for the winner.

The venue could have been negotiated as well as the date just like when Pacquiao wanted 50-50 but was then willing to 55-45 sharing for the winner. Your insistence that Mayweather is unyielding with his demand reinforces the idea that he is the one unwilling to make the fight.

And your statement that Arum is not giving Pacquiao 50-50 is pointless given your own video that Mayweather admits that Arum takes 27% of Pacquiao's money so why fuss over it?

I dedicate this video clip to floyd to keep his big mouth shut… watch pacquiao accurate solid punches, mayweather definitely afraid to undergo.

I would suggest that anyone who defends Floyd Mayweather Jr. after that interview or repeats Mayweather’s words and takes their facts from any speculations that come out of Mayweather’s mouth not bother replying because it will make you look utterly pathetic trying to defend Floyd’s stance. Mayweather Jr. is clearly worried that Manny Pacquiao is a legitimate threat to his health and well-being because his response when the subject of Manny Pacquiao came up was to speak about “self preservation” and his health and family. Whenever a fighter mentions such words they are signs that they see that opponent as a danger to their health. I used to be a huge Floyd Mayweather supporter, but when I came to think things through without letting emotions get to me, I realized that Floyd Mayweather Jr. never wanted to fight Manny Pacquiao or a prime Pacquiao at least and it was clear that he was taking us for a ride and using Pacquiao’s name to sell his fights. Floyd said all Pacquiao had to do was take the tests, well Pacman agreed to them and now Floyd came up with another roadblock, a roadblock that is so unrealistic and unfair that it is enough to halt a fight of this magnitude from happening, Floyd was unwilling to give Pacquiao a fair share in financial portions, Floyd didn’t just say no 50-50 split with Pacquiao, he said no share of any of the back end revenue which includes PPV, and live gate. Bob Costas asked the right questions and even held back a little, but knew he could tear apart any argument Floyd had. I have to give Bob Costas his props

LISTEN TO MAYWEATHER IN 2009 BEFORE THE MARQUEZ FIGHT TELL YOU THERE WILL BE NO 50/50 http://www.boxingsocialist.com/video/mayweather-manny-pacquiao-will...

and @Gary your right this was an non-issue until they needed to fool the unenlightened. Noticed once again,no mention of the venue issue. I would not pay pacquiao 50/50 myself. for what? He's not getting 50/50 from Arum.
