Victor Ortiz wants to make a huge impact and fast

By Kevin Davis

Oscar Delahoya first action star that he went to court over and battled for, Victor Ortiz. When Ortiz was unhappy with his management and promoter Top Rank he filed for bankruptcy and then signed with Golden Boy. Bob Arum filed a junction and the rest was history, Ortiz had to pay both companies.

Golden Boy had the guy they wanted, even when he lost to Marcos Maidana, many wrote him off. Golden Boy did not, because they knew what I knew Victor Ortiz has heart. He will bounce back, and he did, shocking the world and winning the welterweight championship from an unbeaten Andre Berto at the time. Victor was king and landed the Floyd Mayweather fight which ended in the worst fashion for Victor with him losing his cool, then his head.

Then his comeback fight was going the way he wanted a war with Josesito Lopez, which was a war, until Lopez caught Ortiz with his jaw open and broke it in two places. A broken up Ortiz just fell to his knees in the back because he knew he was winning the fight. "That fight took the wind out of Victor's sail" said Jose Torres a boxer that trained with Ortiz in Colorado. "I watched that fight and said damn, Victor had that kid then that fluke thing happened. I felt so bad for him, because I know how hard that guy works man, Ron Lyle would teach Victor little things here and there because he saw this kid had raw talent, that just don't walk into the gym that often."

They all knew Victor would be a champion, "Once he moved to California, I said Victor is going to champion real soon. This guy had no real boxing training and was winning amateur championships, who does that? right. With the right trainer, getting the best work, this guy will be a monster."  Now Victor Ortiz is working with Freddie Roach and is ready to get back where he left off and want his rematch with Lopez to prove that his last fight was a fluke. One thing we know for sure, Ortiz is coming to fight.

I look forward to seeing Ortiz back into the ring again this year. Things happen in boxing. Ortiz has out due to a broken jaw in his fight against Lopez which was an awesome. I was expecting Ortiz to beat Lopez and then face Canelo but I was wrong on my prediction to that bout.

HE'S ALREADY MADE AN IMPACT. HE FOUGHT DIRTY AND GOT KO'D BY MAYWEATHER AND THEN IN HIS NEXT FIGHT HE GOT HIS JAW BROKEN AND LOST OUT ON A BIG PAYDAY FIGHT WITH CANELO. THIS WOULD BE CALLED KARMA ON THE HIGHEST LEVEL! TWO THINGS THAT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. NOW THAT'S AN IMPACT!!!    :)
