WHO IS BEHIND THE TOP RANK / GOLDEN BOY FEUD

By Kevin Davis

In a world in which big business is ruling over the sport we love, there are certain variables that must be accounted for. There is a reason that you cant see fights like Nonito Donaire vs Abner mares, or Brandon Rios vs Danny Garcia. According to my sources, Showtime sports President Stephen Espinoza is the major piece in this puzzle that is holding up major fights, we want to see.

This man is holding a personal grudge against Top Rank Promotions. Business is never to be taken personally, it shows a lack of standards. When Ross Greenburg was President of sports at HBO, Espinoza was a Golden Boy Promotions unofficial associate, according to my source. Moving behind the scenes in the interest of Golden Boy Promotions. the company had a deal in place with HBO sports that they could not deal with any other network. Once Greenburg resigned, and President of Showtime sports at the time Ken Hershman took over and Golden Boy lobbied for Espinoza to get the Showtime job.

The results Golden Boy is now free to work with anyone they want, which mean that they will try to corner all major fight dates. and with Espinoza at the helm, they can get everything they want from Showtime. Here is where Top Rank fits in, Golden Boy was first to the bid of the request of May 5th by two days. Top Rank later that year declared that they would also fight on the same date of May 5th, anyhow. Espinoza is heated by this move by Top Rank , in his own words "They screwed me over" took it as a sign that they were trying to hurt his program.

The fight between Mickey Garcia and Orlando Salido was suppose to be on Showtime Sports they wanted to buy the fight, after the Chavez Jr. vs Martinez fight was made no emails were returned from Espinoza. Arum now pissed off, sounded off and said  "Showtime Sports doesn't exist to us." knowing who's behind the scenes of this crime, Top rank refuse to do any business with Golden Boy Promotions. Showtime wont let Top Rank Promote an event on there program.

it reeks and its high time the fans did something about it.  Don't buy PPV, don't watch their channels en-mass and they will start getting the message.

GBP effectively have a puppet at the wheel.
