Would Nonito Donaire have the Power to Keep Salido or Lopez off of him at 126lbs?

By Shawn Craddick

This Saturday we will learn whether or not it was a fluke the first time Orlando Salido beat Juan Manuel Lopez. These guys were swinging for the fences and Salido got the best of Lopez by stopping him in the 8th round. Lopez was and still is known as a power puncher but it seemed like Salido just walked right through him. Lopez has been on shaky ground before and his chin has been in question. Somehow with his power punching he was able to stop his opponents. Nonito Donaire has talked about moving up to 126lbs before and we must wonder whether he could handle the power of this two top featherweights.

Nonito Donaire is a pretty strong puncher himself but could he get himself in trouble if he moved up to featherweight. Nonito has good punching power but everyone will always question whether a person can "bring" that power up with thim. Surely Nonito has the height but will that power be there? Against Vasquez he was able to drop him, but he got right back up and weathered the storm. Before we jump the gun though, Nonito has some unfinished business at 122lbs. You have Arce, Mijares, Rigodeaux who just keeps calling Nonito out. Nonito's fans just can't wait to see how far up he can move. Manny did it from 108 up to 147lbs. Can Nonito follow in his footsteps?
