NEW YORK – Two of the most prestigious amateur and Olympic gold medalist had their final face-off today before their championship bout that will be televise on ESPN boxing. Both Vasiliy Lomachenko (129) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (128.4) where under the 130 limit. Both fighters are considered to be the most avoided and technical fighters in the game today. Rigondeaux, who is moving up two divisions to get a mega fight wants to prove that skills overcome weight and sizes. Rigondeaux has been the boogie man for many years that other champions in his weight division have refused to fight him. Lomachenko will be defending his junior lightweight championship at the sold-out Theater at Madison Square Garden. Both Lomachenko and Rigondeaux could put their name in the records books as the winner of first two-time Olympic gold medalists that squared off as professionals.
